A DAY AT THE FROST SCIENCE MUSEUM
Let’s have fun at the #FROST
Thank you to the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science and the Miami Downtown Development Authority for the special event invite.
The grand opening event was an unforgettable experience on a unique afternoon that included special exhibits around the museum such as the Frost Planetarium, and aquarium. There were also appetizers by executive chef Tony Tehro and dessert from Frost 321.
Floridian’s and guests from around the world joined the event to celebrate the brand new science, aquarium, and planetarium museum located in Museum Park containing a breathtaking view of downtown Miami as well as Biscayne Bay, with a sunset view you need to see.
This is a place to discover innovative activities and learn more about what the planet has to offer.
EXHIBITS THAT MUST BE DISCOVERED
The MeLab is a health exhibit where you get to learn how to build a better you. The exhibition focuses on health awareness with eating, moving, learning, connecting, and relaxing, all factors in a personal healthy living lifestyle. MeLab has a lot of interactive activities that you can customize based on your own criteria which includes a beta character that I had fun customizing, a dance floor that changes colors in a water ripple effect in addition to many more activities. Don’t forget to customize your MeLab and have fun!
AQUARIUM: THE DEEP
The three-story aquarium can be much more appreciated from a portal at the Seeing “What are you looking at?” level. The Gulf Stream Oculus and the Curious Vault is breathtaking plus don’t forget to visit the small aquarium exhibits of the different jellyfish. It’s amazing to be able to see the aquarium at different stages, something I’ve never experienced before.
AQUARIUM: THE VISTA
The Vista Aquarium floor imitates the ecosystem of South Florida by having the everglades, mangrove forests, sandy shores, beautiful coral reefs, as a touch-based experience. The exhibit features a hands-on experience and native critters in their natural habitat.
FROST PLANETARIUM ENTRANCE
WOW. The planetarium is an exhibit you must experience. The nearly 360-degree view screen with the 3-D projector of 16-million color visual effects takes you to another dimension. The dome is tilted forward, allowing us to create the whole vision of being on a rocket ship to space. The show is something you must see and experience, to be “wowed”!
There are still some exhibits at The Frost Science I can’t wait to discover and explore. Overall, The Frost Science Museum is worth the Buzz. I mean the Bazz.
A one day ticket is not enough to experience the different exhibits this amazing structure offers.
To Miami-Dade residents the museum offers a 15 % discount. If you’re a Miami-Dade educator, first responder, active duty military, retired military, or a veteran, general admission is free with a valid ID. To seniors 62 + GOLDEN TICKET offers free passes.
