LET’S TAKE A LOOK INSIDE

Estefan’s Kitchen is the newest South Florida restaurant, located in The Miami Design District, that brings a Latin bistro and a joint coffee spot. International super stars Gloria Estefan and Emilio Estefan, in collaboration with Miami’s Hot Chef Odell Torres, created a delightful menu to try from.

The restaurants interior give homage to the traditions of Cuba, bringing a vibrant design with mosaic walls, white fixtures, entertainment and a purple/blue lighting that brings the place to life. The Architecture firm V3 outdid themselves.

“The space is outfitted in a monochromatic scheme and boasts dramatic mosaic murals, an Art Deco column and a modern 34-seat, oyster shell-mosaic bar where guests can sip a variety of refreshing cocktails.”

A fun experience, where you can dance to boleros, try amazing & authentic Cuban food & desserts, & have the best tropical drinks all in one location!

The cocktails are to die for! Such cocktails like the “Mojito” is one of my favorite drinks, it has a peculiar taste that reminds me of our Latin culture. The biggest happy hour specials are on weekdays from 3:00pm – 7:00pm.

The Miami Design District has different events happening at all times. On certain days you’ll be able to catch Mariano Brascich playing live, and also, (a hidden secret) , catch Gloria & Emilio Estefan on Fridays as they attend & eat at Estefan’s Kitchen.

INSIDE SCOOP

We can’t finish telling you the full scoop without letting you know the secret behind Chef Odell Torres most famous dish: Chicken Vaca Frita

“First we Boil water with garlic (1 oz.), onion (3 oz.), celery (4 oz.), cilantro (2 oz.), and salt (½ tbs). Add chicken breast to boiling water, bring to simmer, cover and cook for about 1 hour. Remove chicken from the water and let cool. Cover chicken with plastic wrap and apply pressure to open the chicken breast fibers. Mix the remaining garlic, cumin, oregano, lime juice, mojo and onions together. In a pan, sear the chicken with oil and season with salt on both sides. Add ½ mojo mixture to the chicken. Sauté again and remove from heat.”

Another famous dish I love from Chef Odell is the Vaca frita. The traditional dish is served in a “sizzling” plate. The meats are seasoned to perfection, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. They come out of the kitchen and are served at the table on “sizzling” platters . . . the aroma and taste are INCREDIBLE!”

DRINKS

Mojito

I love Mojitos, and I must say that they know how to make one at Estefan’s Kitchen. It’s a tropical drink perfect for summer, and I always order it. Estefan’s kitchen bartenders use their daily fresh picked mint, and lime to add to the rum. It’s nicely tart and not sour, with a nice sweet minty/lime taste made right in front of you.

If you want to splurge after a long walk in the Miami Design District, a great meal choice would be at Estefan’s kitchen located in the heart of Midtown.
